God Showed Up
God gives us what we need and sometimes I don’t realize how it can mean so much. Is that terrible? It’s true.
Friends, I can’t begin to tell you how big God blessed me Saturday. I just needed friends that day. I’ve got stuff going on and I needed my tribe and I needed some hugs and I needed some prayers. Wow. The Lord just showed up and showed off, I can tell you that.
Beginning with the hands of a righteous woman (the model I aspire to be in womanhood) grabbing me by the hands and praying for me that morning before a baby shower . . . to a table full of friends and good fun and laughter . . . to running into a friend at Target and getting that hug I needed . . . to that quick conversation with my 2am friend to talk about this life stuff . . . to sweet friends at the ballet . . . to the great phone conversation with another bestie from Missouri . . . to getting a hug from a friend when dropping a movie off.
Wow.
God.
Just because He can.
My heart has been tender . . . the past weekend seemed to have rushed in a new season for me that I am not prepared for. . . I had prayed for many things the last 24 hours (and I do mean many) and one of those things I prayed for was comfort. Just the comfort like only He can give.
Let me tell you just how big my God is.
I had a surprise knock on my door out of nowhere ……it was my very favorite human.
LaShawna, the very best friend any girl could have, all the way from Lafayette.
That’s how big my God is. He’ll put the someone you need a hug from the most on an airplane and fly them 500 miles to you and deliver them to your front door like Amazon Prime – except He’s always on time!
God gives us what we need. It may not always be in the way we think it will be or on the time table we want it done in but He is faithful and He is always on time.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”.
John 14:27
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
Psalm 37
