The third book of the Torah.

Day 9 of 90: Bible Reading Plan (Read Leviticus 1-7)

Last year I had a friend teasing me about something so I told them that for the next Bible study I was going to have my daughter do that it was going to be over the Book of Leviticus; I told that friend I gave my daughter their number and told her to call them with any questions she had. Ha, ha!

Leviticus can be a hard pill to swallow; as the saying goes. There are a number of things that are covered in Leviticus but in 1-7 a lot that is covered is what God has spoken to Moses; for him to repeat to the Israelite’s. He’s telling them and their priests about the offerings they are to make: The Burnt Offering, The Grain Offering, The Fellowship Offering, The Sin Offering, The Guilt Offering (or bunt, meal, peace, sin, trespass, depending on which translation you have). He tells Moses how the Israelite’s will make their offerings in the Tabernacle. I’m not getting into what all of these offerings mean but there’s a lot more to it than just giving up an offering, I’m thinking maybe we can roll back around to Leviticus when our cover-to-cover is done and have just one blog about the offerings’ meanings!

I don’t know how they did it back then with all those instructions, to go through the sanctuary rituals as they did. . . but then again, they had to.

We only have a few days per book of the Bible so we won’t spend much time here, so I’m glad we got to read through the offerings today. I know I’m not writing much tonight, but I’m dealing with some issues – with a pretty tender arm. I’m hoping to write tomorrow but if I don’t make it on for some reason, don’t forget to read! We’ll pick back up on Friday if I miss tomorrow, but I’m believing for a good night! Read Leviticus 8-15 tomorrow (yes, we’re just going to chip away at this one!)
