Moving On: Change Is Hard

Moving On: Change Is Hard

Can you believe that tomorrow will be our last day in Deuteronomy!? Wowzers! So if you’re following along today you should have read (or will read) Deuteronomy 18-26, because today is Day 19 of 90 in our reading plan to get through the Bible, in 90 days, from cover to cover.

Again today, just as yesterday, repetition. Here’s the general rule for life, especially when teachers are involved, if it’s repeated twice you know it’s important. Hang on to that little nugget!

I’m going through some growing pains right now with some things and I’m trying not to allow the changing circumstances in my life to eclipse everything else but it’s really been kind of hard lately, I constantly find myself having to reel it back in. It’s not easy. I want to run to Him but then I’ll find myself doing this moonwalk backwards, trying to look around and grab whatever I can get my hands on ; anxiety, inclusion, exclusion, fear, procrastination, too much planning; I mean there are so many things, it’s either one extreme or another and these things are pulling me into each direction and becoming idols. . . simply because they’re things that are consuming more of my thoughts and time and energy and emotions and all facets of my being than what I’m giving the Lord.

It’s exhausting and feels like it’s going to give me a whiplash.

Change sure can be hard.

It’s also necessary.

Though I have so many awesome new things going on right now, it’s hard to not to try to be everything for everyone and it’s even harder to let go of a lot of things, and I feel that’s where I am.

If you’ve followed along at all with my journey with my daughter’s health journey you’d know that right now there’s just a lot going on and I feel that with everything from the past week or so, it’s just been kind of a whirlwind to think about. Sometimes I think I’d rather us do everything all at once and get it done with, and sometimes I think I wish I could run away somewhere where we didn’t have to face tomorrow, somewhere we could leave the world behind.

Today I am just thankful that God has it all worked out for me. Today I am thankful that nothing has come as a surprise to Him. Today I am so thankful for His sovereignty.

My provider, my lover of my soul . . . He’s forever faithful.

Thank you, Jesus.

“God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9
