Day 18: Pray for Posie

Day 18: Pray for Posie

Today has been an eventful day and it’s been a pretty good one. Posie got up in a good mood and got ready for the day and played with her toys until the tech came in for her weigh-in. She weighed in at the same exact weight as she was on Monday. That’s great, her weight seems to have curved some. She went to OT at 8:30, feeding therapy at 9:00 (she vomited everything up as soon as she took one step outside the door), and OT again at 9:30. She enjoyed showing off her new clothes to everyone today.

I got to watch this sweet face sleeping yesterday
She’s growing so fast, she’s just a doll.
This was my dinner last night. It was this or some weird looking sandwich option and I wasn’t feeling that brave. So I thought Posie was asleep and opened it up, obviously it had a strong odor (the cheese, boiled egg, and sausage). She jolted awake and asked, “WHAT IS THAT SMELL!?” Busted! Obviously I can’t hide that I’m eating in front of her if she is smelling this. I asked, “What smell?”, and she said, “It smells like a burp!”, and then she laid there for a minute waiting for a response from me (I didn’t give one, I was trying not to laugh out loud, what a funny thing to say) and then she fell back asleep. Note to self: Don’t buy dinner that smells like “a burp”.
Playing with her toys first thing this morning. She still enjoys playing with the dollhouse that the Child’s Life brought her to play with and she loves playing with her polly pocket and the princess toy she earned in the reward box at O.T.

We went to speech therapy and she was so excited that she got to bring some vanilla wafers back up to the room for a snack for later (after dinner tonight). She ate some scrambled eggs today and liked them. Yay! We came back to the room and she made her daddy and her papa a Father’s Day card and then we walked them downstairs so that she could mail them. She helped mama pick up on the room a little bit, organizing her toys and her shelf at the sink. She’s so excited we have a special friend coming to visit tomorrow. We went to lunch and she ate really good for me. She was so happy to so “her” Aura today, she sure loves that lady.

If there ever was a sign for my life . . . this is the one. Hahaha.
She put her puzzle together all by herself!
I told her we were going to send a pic to Daddy & Sissy and I got this sweetness
Big helper!
She knows where to the put the mail!

One of the nurses came in and put this Geomat in the corner of the room. I asked her what it was for and she said she didn’t know, that someone handed it to her and told her to bring it to me. She told me that they can’t take it back so it’s mine to keep and bring home with me. What a blessing! I was talking to a physical therapist up here a week ago when they popped into our room (and I had my tens machine hooked up to me) and we did talk about my shoulder. I don’t know if he sat it up to get me one, or one of the psychlogists. Everyone here works together to make things happen, so there’s no telling. I’m definitely looking forward to sleeping on it tonight, that would be so great if it helped ease some of the pain!

My new bedding
Posie was helping Ms. Meka get her food out of the fridge. Ms. Charlotte was cracking me up with that face. She tried and tried and tried to get Posie to talk or look at her or smile or something and Posie wouldn’t have any of it. Then Ms. Meka came around the corner and Posie’s eyes lit up and she started smiling and talking and bouncing around. I was laughing so hard. Ms. Charlotte tries to talk to Posie every day, waves at her, she said she’s not going to give up. Maybe Posie will say hi to her or smile at her before we leave.
So excited to work with Ms. Aura
Having so much fun!

At 2:30 pm she got to attend the Father’s Day Home Depot Building Event in the cafeteria. She had so much fun. Ms. Aura helper her to make a wooden planter. She can’t wait to give it to dad.

They did such a great job!
I think they’re right! They do look like best friends! : )
She’s so excited to give daddy his Father’s Day gift!
She’s getting more and more coordinated
She is having a lot of fun here & it’s gone better than I could ever have imagined
Look at my strong lil’ monkey!

We went back to feeding therapy at 3 and then we went outside and played, it felt so great outside. The weather was amazing! It got so windy it was blowing her around, haha! The temp when we went out was around 91 but there was so much cloud coverage and the wind was blowing, that it sure didn’t feel like it. We enjoyed it quite a bit. So next week still looks like we’ll be taking her afternoon bottle and the SLP and psychologist told me today that they’re going to try to rock the boat a little with her next week and get her out of her comfort zone, eating in new places, and even take her off campus to eat. They want to see how she’ll respond and address the situations/reactions accordingly so we’re prepared when I take her home. She’s watching some tv right now for a few minutes as she cools off and then we’ll head back down to her last feeding therapy of the day. I actually won’t be doing this one b/c Ms. Meka is going to record it for us, so she’ll be doing it. We’re both ready to come home. Please pray for Posie!
