Day 25: Pray for Posie

Day 25: Pray for Posie

Today has been a day I’d like to celebrate! It’s gone so much better than the rest of the week. Now that’s not to say that it hasn’t been without a lot of challenges but it’s just been a pretty great day. It’s been the best day we’ve had in a week, I’m excited!!! We had a visitor last night, the new baby girl down the hall who is a year old. Her mom and her were walking the hall and stopped in and visited us for about 20 minutes. It was so nice! She slept good last night and didn’t get crazy about not having her bottle through the night or for the fact that it wasn’t brought in to her till around 6:30 this morning.

Her OT gave us this book to look through!

She had a little trouble with her routine change this morning, they merged her morning feeding therapy and morning OT together (so she didn’t get to work at all in the “gym” and that threw her for a loop. She got to go play with Child Life in the playroom 2-3 times and she had so much fun with “her Aura” and she’s so happy that Aura is coming back tomorrow. I’m excited too!

Always swinging, everyday.
She’s having fun with Meagan!
Playing Kinetic Sand w/the psychologist
So much fun

We’ve been busy. We went outside and played bubbles, we had the psychologist come into the room to speak with me some more, the dietician came in and the nurse as well. We’ve had a lot of discussions throughout the day. We will be having one more “huddle” team meeting before we go home but they said for now that they believe we will continue to give her the baby bottle for her morning milk and for bedtime. The dietician said that coming from a medical and medication standpoint that she can’t take those two 8oz bottles away. She gets her meds in those bottles, but also right now Posie is kind of plateaued and hit a stump where she’s not taking in more volume of food, which means we can’t even decrease the volume of Pediasure she’s got right now. That’s okay! When we came here she was drinking all of her milk out of baby bottles, drinking like 6-9 bottles a day, and when we leave here she’ll be drinking 2. TWO! When we came here she’d only eat a few different foods and wouldn’t necessarily eat every day. Now she’s eating several foods and eating 4, FOUR, structured meals a day. The weekend is upon us and the weekends are the hardest up here. Please pray for Posie!
